Ballet-tale by P. И. Tchaikovsky
Adaptation for children
Would you like to see how Sleeping Beauty has shrunk and become a child who dances just like a real ballerina? Could an entire performance you have seen on the stage of the State Opera-Stara Zagora, even performed with a live orchestra, shrink and become like a performance in a fairy-tale music box?
Yes, anything can happen on the stage of the Stara Zagora State Opera! Soon you will see a unique version for children of P.I. Tchaikovsky's famous ballet. The choreography is by ballet dancers Ivelina Nikolova, Bogdana Sergeeva, Alexander Markov, Kalin Lyubenov, who dance in the "big" version of the ballet. The adaptation of the text and direction are by Yova Petkova, head of the Children and Youth Opera and Ballet Studio of the State Opera-Stara Zagora. The beautiful costumes, created especially for this performance, are by Teodora Dzhambazova, the author of the costumes in all the productions of the studio.
The "small" version of the ballet will also feature the vocal group of the Children and Youth Opera and Ballet Studio. To make it even more interesting, the young artists will sing and tell the story - one of the timeless tales of childhood. The lyrics of the songs are by Boryana Petrova and the vocal teachers are Inna Andreeva and Boryana Petrova.
In the performance, the ingenious Master of Ceremonies, Catalabutt, will welcome the audience into the world of kings and queens, courtiers and servants, and it is understood -beautiful fairies.
But one mistake will put our heroes to the test. At the christening of little Princess Aurora, the long-awaited child of the royal couple, Catalabutt has forgotten to invite Fairy Carabosse! Will Aurora's fairy godmother, Lilac, be able to appease the vengeful Carabosse, or will the fate of the kingdom be doomed forever?
Whether you know the end of the fairy tale or not, you will find it endlessly interesting to attend the performance of the young talents from the State Opera Stara Zagora! Their talent, passion and love, with which they prepared the ballet-fairy tale "Sleeping Beauty", guarantee our claim.
The premiere of "Sleeping Beauty" was on May 19, 2022 at 7 pm and on May 20 and 23 at 11 am at the State Opera-Stara Zagora.
